Music
Sound and music have been used through the ages as tools for healing and transformation. Through my songs, I wrap messages in melodies so that, when sung over and over, they repattern our minds and hearts. If you want more of this musical magic, explore the Great Work of the following friends and colleagues. You'll find different kinds of music: some songs, some instrumental. All of it is uplifting:

Movies
Here's a great investment... For a few dollars at your local video store, rent yourself a healthy dose of inspiration:
Billy Elliot
A young Irish boy endures his father's dissaproval and defies social norms to pursue his passion for the dance.
An earthy movie with well rounded, human characters and a super ending.
Erin Brockovich
Julia Roberts won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of real-life Erin Brockovich, an unlikely woman to land a job for which she is surprisingly well suited. Erin's moxy, will and tenacity help drive a legal battle that ends toxic business practices. This is a Davey-triumphs-over-Goliath story. It illustrates how the Forces of the Universe converge to match the right person with her Divine Assignment, how the server is transformed as she serves others.
It's A Wonderful Life
An American classic starring Jimmy Stewart, this film reminds us that we do our Great Work every day
through the little ways we love and serve each other. Our seemingly small actions create huge ripple
effects; who we are makes a difference. The message of this movie inspired my song,
It Wouldn't Be Bedford Falls.
Jerry Maguire
With an adorable kid and a romantic subplot that turboboosted Renée Zellweger's acting career, this movie is about a man who sacrifices comfort, security and megapay for work embued with integrity and meaning. Starring Tom Cruise and featuring a highly animated Cuba Gooding Jr., you're bound to have a great time!
Rudy
I love this true story about a young man who wants to play football for Notre Dame. He perseveres and conquers so many seemingly impossible obstacles (including his small stature) that we are left believing, "If he can achieve his dream, so can I."

Development Programs
Anticareer Workshop
Rick Jarow is a master at guiding you to examine and move past life issues that block yourself from doing
what you're meant to do. He draws heavily and effectively on the chakra system. If you can't afford the time
of money for the workshop, his six-tape audio set published by Sounds True is a great second choice.
Hendricks Institute
Two of my favorite authors and teachers, Gay and Katie Hendricks, offer programs on relationships, manifestation and more. Their book, Conscious Loving, is the best relationship guidebook I've read.
Option Institute
Barry and Samahria Kaufman exude and teach unconditional love for oneself and others. They offer a fabulous catalog of programs, taught in the beautiful Bershire Mountains of Massachusettes. I can't recommend them more highly. Treat yourself. Change your life. Go!
The Path
Bestselling author Laurie Beth Jones offers a training program based on her book of the same name. She implores us to articulate our personal mission statement. How else will the Divine CEO of the Universe know whom to deploy for specific assignments? She also offers versions of The Path for children and teens.

Organizations and Newsletters
Association for Spirit at Work
I call Judi Neal, Founder and Director of this organization, "The Grand Dame of Spirit at Work." A professor at the University of New Haven, Judi has dedicated herself to promoting this movement. Her web site and newsletter are the definitive source of goings-on in this arena.
Institute of Noetic Science
Their 1995 conference, "The Transformative Spirit of Service," launched me onto my path of pursuing and
encouraging Great Work. Founded by former astronaut Edgar Mitchell, who felt his awareness expand when he viewed Earth from space, this organization is devoted to the study of consciousness.
Sound Healers Association
My sound healing teacher, Jonathan Goldman, founded this association in the 1980s. A leader and pioneer in this field, Jonathan's web site provides links to many other sound healing resources. Use the power of your own voice to assist you in your inner Great Work.

To Support Your Outer Great Work
Callings: Finding and Following an Authentic Life by Gregg Levoy
So rich in metaphor and word craft, this non-fiction book reads like a novel. Gregg, a former journalist, said he wrote the book in one draft. "Unheard of," he said. "It usually take me five drafts." I'm guessing he was guided; this book needed to be written and it needs to be read.
Creative Work: The Constructive Role of Business in a Transforming Society
by Willis Harman and John Horman
The late Dr. Harman was a founder of the World Business Academy. This groundbreaking book still is rich in vision about what work is becoming and must become.
The Cultural Creatives: How 50 Million People Are Changing the World by Paul H. Ray and Sherry Ruth Anderson
In 1998, Ray and Anderson revealed their research results: one in five Americans (roughly the population of France) deeply wished to express their values in their lives and work, yet felt isolated and alone. These are the cultural creatives. Our number is growing. Are you one of us?
The Divine Right of Capital: Dethroning the Corporate Aristocracy by Marjorie Kelly
I have a degree in economics and I've always had problems with the shadow side of our economy. It thrills me that a smart, strong woman, Marjorie Kelly, editor of Business Ethics Magazine, has bravely exposed the flaws in our system and has proposed a better way.
Emergence: The Shift from Ego to Essence
by Barbara Marx Hubbard
Barbara speaks about "vocational arousal," the inner stirring we feel to express and do what we came to do. She urges us to fulfill our calling, claiming that we each have unique, vital functions to fulfill in the emerging social body.
Envisioning a Sustainable Society: Learning Our Way Out
by Lester W. Milbrath
This changed my life in graduate school. Milbrath paints a picture of what we must do to save this planet.
He brilliantly proposes new educational systems and guiding organizations. If you don't know what kinds of Great Work
might be needed on Earth, check out the options he proposes.
Finding Your Perfect Work by Paul and Sarah Edwards
One of the best career guide books I've found.
I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was by Barbara Sher
Barbara addresses many possible reasons for not being able to choose a direction. She'll help you gain clarity.
The Reinvention of Work by Matthew Fox
This book, eloquently written, is where I first read the term, "Great Work."
The Path by Laurie Beth Jones
A terrific guidebook for revealing your personal mission statement. Laurie's also written a Path book for kids. She explains why it's so critical for everyone to know and state his or her mission.
The Purpose of Your Life by Carol Adrienne
A wonderful examination of the process that reveals your life's purpose. Carol guides you to rely on guidance such as synchronicity to help you along your way.
Who We Could Be at Work by Margaret Lulic
This is one of my all-time favorites, setting forth a vision of what work can be for our spirits through descriptions of real people in forward-thinking, real jobs.

To Support Your Inner Great Work
Conscious Loving by Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks
In my opinion, the best book on creating honest, loving, co-creative, healthy relationships. Gay and Katie have lived and tested their approach, so it really works. I wish everyone on the planet would read and follow what this book proffers.
The Dark Side of the Light Chasers by Debbie Ford
You know how a rare book can change your whole perspective on life? This one did it for me. Debbie illustrates how the very people that annoy us are simply displaying disowned parts of ourselves. She shows us how to embrace others and thus love ourselves in the process.
Depression Free for Life by Dr. Gabriel Cousens, M.D.
He claims a 90% success rate! This western-trained medical doctor and naturopath describes his all-natural, drug-free approach to depression. I tried his recommendations and they transformed my mood and my life for the better. Antidepressant drugs have long-term ill effects; try this first.
Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn
In a humorous, self-revealing way, Lynn distills the essence of Abraham-Hicks teachings. She offers a simple but potent formula for manifesting the life we desire: feel good ("high vibe") about what you want and it shall be. This is a must read!
Happiness is a Choice by Barry Neil Kaufman
Happiness is not determined by outer circumstances but by how we perceive things internally. Barry embodies Christ consciousness better than anyone else I know; he's unconditionally loving and oh-so wise. Read the book then take the workshop at his Option Institute.
Manifest Your Destiny by Dr. Wayne Dyer
You can't go wrong with Dr. Dyer. This is one of my favorites.
A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson
This book helped launch me on my spiritual path. Written in 1993, it's a layperson's primer to The Course in
Miracles. Lyrically composed, A Return to Love contains the famous quote Nelson Mandela used in his 1994
inaugural address. This quote inspired my song, I'm Shining.
The Psychic Pathway by Sonia Choquette
Relying on your intuition is a critical skill for navigating your way toward and through your Great Work. Sonia was fortunate to grow up in a family that nurtured and acknowledged her sixth sense. Sonia guides you to acknowledge and use your own intuition.
Wishcraft by Barbara Sher
A classic book on manifesting what you want.
You'll See It When You Believe It by Dr. Wayne Dyer
Another of my favorites by Dr. Dyer. Rife with amazing stories of synchronicity, this book reminds us that our thoughts create what we perceive as reality.
Your Heart's Desire by Sonia Choquette
I used this as a workbook with a women's group. We met biweekly to manifest our dreams. The exercises and insights are fabulous and they work: everything we wanted has come true!
